  1. Is Genie injured? If not, why would she pull out of Monterrey because it seems like she could use matches. Other than the quarterfinals in Auckland at the beginning of the year, the furthest she has gone is the second round at the Australian Open & Dubai. She lost first round in Indian Wells & didn’t make it out of qualifying in Miami. I have always thought that she would be able to rise in the rankings again because I figured she still had the same talent that she had before, & she was very strong mentally when she first made her breakthrough in 2014. I thought that she would be able to get that back again, but now it looks like I was wrong. Do you think it is mostly mental with her that she can’t seem to progress in the last few years? Does she work with a sports psychologist on the mental part of her game? Sorry for all the questions, but it really puzzles me how someone with her talent & former mental strength can’t seem to progress any more than she has lately. Tks.
