  1. Interesting no Shamasdin this week. Seems like he plays every week, especially when he’s in Europe. Maybe he’s hanging around Madrid hoping for a withdraw spot.

    • It’s a lot more complicated than it seems, when you’re on the bubble like that. I talked to him about this a few weeks ago. I mean, you can’t just materialize out of nowhere for a sign-in. You have to figure out where to be, where’s most likely. It’s a big-time chess match. He can’t afford to travel to Madrid, just on the hopes someone will pull out – even if he was close on the entry list, which he wouldn’t be.

      Also could be playing club matches in Germany. Lots of players are. I will check.
