  1. Great to see all red for two of our players, especially at the end of the season. Hope this helps kick-start 2018 for them.

  2. Congrats to Carol and Filip. It was nice to see FP win, after all the rounds he played.

  3. Holy smokes Filip Peliwo!!!!! 3 rounds of qualifying and in the final after knocking of seeds 2, 3 and 8. Nice little bump in the rankings coming up. With Carol Zhao, 2 Canucks playing on a Sunday for the first time in a while. Well played.

    • First time since the weekend of Oct. 22-23, when Bouchard made the doubles final in Linz and Steven Diez won the doubles in Tunisia.
Before that, last week of September: Wozniak won in Stillwater, and Diez lost in the final in Sabadell.

  4. Really great to see Peliwo playing so well this week and having some great results. Should really motivate him to train hard in the off season and have a great start to the new year. I heard on TV he should likely make the Aussie qualifying with this weeks results. Is he playing in Champaigne next week?

    • No “likely” about it. Cutoff for Oz qualies is much, much higher (lower?) than the other Slams.
I suppose it depends on whether he has all the $$ required to make a very expensive trip.

    • He ended up in the main draw after a lot of pullouts, although he wouldn’t have needed to; he could get a special exempt.
He’s in the draw. Will he play? I wouldn’t. It’s a long season and he played a TON of tennis this week.
But if he does, he faces Eubanks in the first round.
