Fed Cup Montreal: It’s gonna be full

Above is the view from the last row of the temporary stands inside Centre Claude-Robillard, the way it’s set up for this weekend’s Fed Cup World Group II tie between Canada and Serbia.

And the way it looks, it’ll be filled.

Tennis Canada communications man Louis-Philippe Dorais said they’d released some extra seats for the matches, which begin Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. There are also a “very few” box seats remaining.

Fed Cup: Feb. 5 results

Madagascar was playing without Zarah Razafimahatratra today. But they did have Nantenaina Ramalalaharivololona.

The Americas Zone (many of those countries, and the concept, will be familiar to many Canadian women’s tennis fans) got under way Wednesday.

Not playing for China (which lost to Uzbekhistan) is … everyone you’ve ever heard of, except for Shuai Zhang.
