Pospisock through to Rome semis

The singles didn’t work out. But Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock are still alive in Rome

The Can-American pair defeated Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay and Marcel Granollers of Spain 6-4, 7-6 (4) to reach the Rome doubles semi-finals, where they will face No. 6 seeds Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea.

Cuevas and Granollers aren’t a seeded team, but they’re a very good one. But it was fairly routine overall – except when Pospisil served for the match at 5-4 and was broken. The pair also were up 4-1 in the tiebreak with Pospisil to serve, and lost both those points.

But in the end, they got it done.

And the chain game was strong.

  1. Yes I’ve given up on TV for tennis, except the majors. Tennistv doing good job of showing more doubles…Mens doubles that is.

For 2nd round on, they’ve had pretty good doubles coverage this year. Even 1st rounds, they show some doubles if a singles match was scheduled that day on same court. I think Indian Wells had almost all of the 1st round doubles, even the courts that only had doubles matches scheduled that day.

  2. I’d love if they’d show some doubles on TV more often. While I can often find it online, I don’t get to see the early matches.

Nice to see them move forward.

    • They’re showing a whole lot on Tennis TV in recent weeks, even early rounds, or wherever people are watching who pirate it. Asking for them to show more on TV is dreaming in technicolour. They can’t even commit to showing the singles live. And forget about women’s tennis.
