MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

An intriguing first-round match at the Australian Open, when 16-year-old up-and-comer Belinda Bencic of Switzerland met 43-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm of Japan.

To put that in perspective, Date-Krumm is older than Bencic’s mom.

For whatever reason, this was a particularly tense-feeling match. There was a good crowd, and Bencic came in in pretty good form, having already had three matches in the qualifying.

In the end, Bencic won 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. But it was kind of a trainwreck of a match. There were more service breaks (18) than points won at the net (16).
