INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The appointment of coach Michael Mortensen to Team Wozniacki.
Did that ever really happen?

He was kind of the invisible man at the beginning of the season because, well, they said he “needed to get the lay of the land” or “get familiar with things” or some such nonsense. It was nonsense, of course, because now-former coach Michael Mortensen known Wozniacki since, well, forever.
But we saw them together – in the flesh, on the same court!!!!! It was the practice court at Indian Wells.
The date was March 9. And while he chatted with bystanders and fed some balls, he still was pretty much Mr. Invisible.

The whole thing was kind of laughable, really.
On the plus side, as you can see in the above pics, she at least worked on her volley for a few minutes! Then again, she was already at the net when she hit them, which is the easiest part of that whole exercise.
