WIMBLEDON – Ever wonder how practice pairings at tournaments are formed?
There are plenty of ways, but sometimes it’s just a common connection.
In the case of Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak and Caroline Garcia of France on Saturday at Wimbledon, it was a common coach.
Former Wimbledon finalist Nathalie Tauziat does a lot of work for Tennis Canada – she coached Genie Bouchard when she won the junior event here two years ago. And she’s currently working with Wozniak.
But she also has worked periodically with countrywoman Caroline Garcia, who mainly is coached by father Luis but wisely seeks outside counsel here and there.
And so the two practiced together on Court 19.
Here are a few photos.
