Pics: Federer’s Wimbledon practice

WIMBLEDON – Can’t say it’s the greatest I’ve ever seen Federer look.

We’ll know more when he actually plays a match for real, but from his practice Friday against young Frenchman Lucas Pouille, Federer looked like he’s not anywhere near to feeling his best.

Good T-shirt, though.

He hardly came to the net at all, and when he did, he wasn’t making the volleys. Very little serving and volleying.

All in all, a little ginger-looking – especially, as I mentioned on Twitter, when getting down and back up from his chair. Those of us who’ve had back woes know that feeling all too well.

We shall see.
