Full court for Steve Johnson Sr. memorial

The celebration of life for Steve Johnson, Sr., the beloved Southern California tennis coach and father of top American player Stevie Johnson, drew a full court Saturday morning at the Orange High School tennis courts.

Johnson died unexpectedly in May, far too young, at age 58.

The memorial was scheduled two months later so that son Steve, who was in Europe playing the long stretch between the French Open and Wimbledon, could attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Johnson’s honor to the OHS Tennis Program, the idea being to use the funds to resurface the tennis courts.
