ITF suspends more small (and retired) fish

The ITF’s anti-doping program continues to catch the big fish.

Dutch player Jake Mak was provisionally suspended for refusing to provide a blood sample. Mak, 28, is unranked. He was playing his first tournament since 2007.

American Dylan Scott, 24, also unranked, tested positive in July. He chose not to appeal.

And 37-year-old British wheelchair player Jamie Burdekin refused to be tested as part of the International Registered Testing pool. He got a four-year ban.

The ITF made “repeated attempts to engage Mr. Burdekin with the results management process”. To no avail.

Because he’s retired.
