On the HBO program Real Sports, host Bryant Gumbel announced that popular tennis broadcaster Mary Carillo had been hospitalized.
Bryant said Carillo, who resides in the Naples area, was outside her Florida home last week.
“She was trying to undo the damage done by (Hurricane) Irma when she fell, punctured a lung, and ended up in the hospital,” Gumbel said.
Gumbel added that Carillo, who is 60 (impossible to fathom; she looks great) has since returned home and “is resting comfortably.”
