Kristina Mladenovic finally won a set Wednesday in Moscow.
On the flip side, the French No. 1 and top seed still went down to defeat to Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus.
The 19-set losing streak began in the second round at the Citi Open Washington D.C. with a straight-sets loss to Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu.
The last match Mladenovic won was in the first round there.
Astonishingly, she will find herself at a career high No. 11 in the rankings next Monday. And she’s still a lock to qualify for the Zhuhai second-tier WTA final.
