MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

IBM bids adieu to Roland Garros

The loss of IBM as its longtime (24-year) technology partner cost the Australian Open millions in revenue, and turned this year’s website and app into disasters.

Now, according to the French newspaper l’Express, IBM has dropped the French Open as well, after 33 years.

L’Express says the minimum investment for an “official partner” is around $3.7 million (US), in addition to services provided in kind.

All of the computing, hosting, ticketing and  IT requirements still must be handled. It probably means, once again, no SlamTracker.

So far, IBM remains a partner at Wimbledon.
