Marrakech tourney under fire

Pablo Andujar was a happy champion.

But players were unhappy with conditions at the ATP 250 tournament in Marrakech.

According to UbiTennis, Italy’s Andreas Seppi said the tournament (not the city) was awful. “The courts are embarrassing, the stringers incapable and the hotel is very dirty,” he said.

Finalist Kyle Edmund said the main issue was the stringers, but said the tournament director promised to fix it for next year.

Tennis journalist Eric Salliot said he heard the stringers were not only unreliable, but insisted on being paid in cash.

Not exactly ATP Tour standard.
