The tennis family lost a feisty one when Barry Gimelstob passed away of heart complications on Friday, at 75.
Gimelstob, the CEO of a New Jersey insurance company, was at the office.
The basketball coach turned to tennis because of his sons. Justin, now retired and involved in myriad tennis-related ventures, was the most successful.
“My dad never did anything halfway. Once he saw we had a passion for tennis, he tried to learn as much about the sport as he could. He surrounded us with the best people and the best opportunities,” Justin Gimelstob told NJ.com.
