Sadness throughout the Australian tennis community, as word came of the death of 2002 junior Wimbledon champion Todd Reid.
The language surrounding the far-too-premature passing of Reid, just 34, is vague.
Fellow Aussie Todd Woodbridge wrote on Twitter of “never knowing how much someone can be suffering”. A news story included the number for a suicide-prevention hotline tagging the story.
Reid won junior Wimbledon at age 18. He had victories over Gasquet, Tipsarevic, Soderling and Muller in the juniors.
He reached a career ATP ranking of No. 105 at age 20 in 2004. But he played only sporadically after mid-2005.
