Off-court concerns affect Zverev

During a Munich pre-interview, chronicled in Germany’s Tennis Magazin, struggling world No. 3 Alexander Zverev was up front with everything that’s going on off court.

His legal issues with now-former manager Patricio Apey were known. Zverev said he’s spending several hours a day on the phone dealing with it.

Zverev has broken up with girlfriend of almost a year, Russian Olga Sharypova (no relation).

And his father, who’s been by his side every step of the way, has been MIA in recent weeks for health reasons. Mentor Ivan Lendl took a pass on the pollen-infused European spring.
