Tomljanovic gets Fed Cup green light

After a five-year wait, Ajla Tomljanovic finally can truly represent Australia.

Just in time: the Aussies will play the last “true” Fed Cup home final in November against France.

The Croatian has lived in Boca Raton, Fla. for years. She got Aussie residency in 2014  and citizenship in 2018.

She has flown the flag on the WTA Tour since 2014.

The ITF decided in 2015 that players could only represent one nation, to eliminate some of the opportunistic jumping around.

Tomljanovic’s appeal was finally successful on the basis that she “applied for her Australian passport before that rule was introduced,” per Tennis Australia.
