Steven Diez had the best season of his career in 2019.
He raised his ranking from No. 416 in January to a career-high No. 134 to end it.
But the 28-year-old Spanish-Canadian saved his best win for the end; he tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Cynthia Marclay last weekend.
Diez didn’t play much at the ATP Tour level – just one main draw. But he did beat rising youngsters Alexei Popyrin and Alexander Bublik in 2019.
The nearly 300-spot rise came on the Challenger circuit (one title – in Burnie, Australia in January).
He’ll look to make that leap in 2020.
