In his first match since his first-round exits in singles and mixed doubles at the Olympics, Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime faced the Italian veteran who took him out in the first round of Roland Garros, Andreas Seppi.
He squeezed through in three sets, while Vasek Pospisil lost to No. 12 seed Sebastian Korda in two close sets.
Auger-Aliassime is the second seed in a tournament that has Rafael Nadal as the top seed. And if there are some challenges in his half of the draw, it’s a nice opportunity to make some hay (and points) at a 500-level event.
