Rebecca Marino was up at 11 a.m. in her second-round match against Paula Badosa. And then, later in the day, teamed up with countrywoman Leylah Annie Fernandez for doubles.

And she won both. She will face No. 1 seed Aryna Sabalenka in both singles and doubles in the next rounds.

Gabriela Dabrowski and partner Luisa Stefani also are on the doubles court, as is the wild-card team of Mélodie Collard and Carol Zhao. The No. 5 seeds won, the wild cards bowed out.

Meanwhile, Simona Halep makes her return to the court after more than three months, in the 7 p.m. match against Danielle Collins – who has done nothing BUT play over the last several weeks. That one was tearful and dramatic and all the things – and won by Collins.
