MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

WTA Tour Montreal – Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 final results

Only three of the top 12 seeds remain in the final eight, with No. 8 Victoria Azarenka gone by the end of the day, after losing to top seed Aryna Sabalenka.

Meanwhile, the very well-rested Coco Gauff hardly had to do much to get to the quarterfinals, with an injury retirement and a walkover.

You’d think she’d have the edge, but she was run over by a Mac truck named Hurricane Giorgi, while Ons Jabeur was two points away before falling to the determined Jessica Pegula.
