And the younger of the two, Reilly Opelka, is onto the final against No. 1 seed Daniil Medvedev.

Meanwhile, over the border, the qualifying begins in Cincinnati with former top-10 players like Kevin Anderson, Fernando Verdasco and Richard Gasquet in the draw.

Vasek Pospisil was the only Canadian, but he was eliminated quickly by Corentin Moutet of France.
