Another day, another full slate for Nick Kyrgios at the Citi Open, where the Aussie was going for both the singles and doubles titles.
He won the singles, and didn’t expend too much energy. And then he won the doubles.
He’ll be toast coming into Montreal. But that’s the price you pay for, you know, winning matches and whatnot).
In Montreal, the final round of qualifying had one Canadian – Gabriel Diallo – the University of Kentucky player who pulled off an improbable and impressive upset of No. 4 seed James Duckworth on Saturday before a thrilled crowd on the Court Rogers. The follow-up was tough.
Good thing the matches were all early; the rain hit later.
