MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Mubadala Exhibition Draw, Schedule Complete

Many players are still playing, and some have already had their short vacations and are already training for 2023.

And in just three weeks, the pre-season exhibition event in Abu Dhabi will already be upon us.

The Mubadala World Tennis Championship has no “Big 3” participation, but six quality ATP Tour players will take to the courts Dec. 16-18 in Dubai.

Including No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.

(Oh yes, and they will pay lip service to the women by having a match between Ons Jabeur and Emma Raducanu).

Here is the draw, and the scheduled order of play

A year ago, Raducanu was literally the first player they announced for this event, with Jabeur. That was in September.

But Raducanu tested positive for COVID a few days before the event.

So the matchup between the Arab world’s most famous player and last year’s “It” girl never happened. Instead, Belinda Bencic came on to replace Raducanu.

And then, both tested positive after the event; Jabeur had already returned to Tunisia.

Rafael Nadal also tested positive after taking part.

Hopefully this year’s event will be a little less … fraught.
