MELBOURNE, Australia – As if Auckland didn’t have enough issues last week with its women’s event – which was played indoors for the most part – it got crazier this week.

A cyclone came through on Tuesday, wiping out play outdoors (thank you, Captain Obvious).

For those who didn’t read any Wizard of Oz books growing up, a “cyclone” is the word for a hurricane in this part of the world.

At least the players didn’t have to sit around all day and wait and hope.

Adelaide is 15 1/2 hours ahead of Eastern time and Auckland is 18 hours ahead.
