A lot of eyes in tennis were on young Wu Yibing, as he took on John Isner in the Dallas Open final.

A former junior No. 1, Wu has lost nearly three years to various injuries. And only this week did he finally break into the top 100 – shortly after another Chinese men’s player, Zheng Zhizhen, did the same. Suddenly, they’re making noise.

He withstood 44 aces from Isner – and won a barnburner to earn his first career ATP Tour title – and the first by a Chinese player in the Open era.

In Montpellier, serve-volleying Franco-American Maxime Cressy looked to try make Jannik Sinner hit 100 passing shots to beat him in the singles final. Sinner withstood the barrage, and took the title.

Cressy, who only began representing the U.S. in 2018, when he was at UCLA (born in Paris, he has an American mother), was also in the doubles final. The 6-7 Cressy teamed up with the 6-8 Albano Olivetti. He couldn’t get over the line there, either. But still a pretty great week for him.
