INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Rebecca Marino, the only one of the six Canadians in the singles main draws who isn’t seeded on the women’s side, begins her Indian Wells campaign against a toughie – Czech lefty Marketa Vondrousova. The Czech has always done well here. And you could see why against Marino Thursday.

Leylah Fernandez is also in, with fellow lefty Taylor Townsend on a wild card in doubles and they were impressive.

And a question was answered: Emma Raducanu did take the court. And although she is not 100 per cent, she did win.
