TORONTO – Between Alcaraz vs Hurkacz and Sinner and Murray, Thursday’s night session in Toronto was fated to keep everyone … up awhile.

It didn’t happen, although Alcaraz and Hurkacz gave the crowd their money’s worth in a dramatic contest – that point made all the more crucial when Murray gave Sinner a walkover because of an ab strain.

And of course there was the renaissance week from Milos Raonic, who got a tough but not terrible draw in the qualify American Mackenzie McDonald. But he didn’t have much left, and McDonald had a lot.
