In Zhuhai, Andy Murray looked for a quarterfinal berth but had a tough potential tussle with Russia’s Aslan Karatsev, and bowed out.

No. 2 Cameron Norrie and No. 4 seed Sebastian Korda played their first matches, after byes in the first round. And did get through.
