Tuesday finals. Love ’em or hate ’em, that’s what we have this week, just as the tournaments in Beijing and Astana are thinking about getting under way.

In his first tournament since the US Open – where he played his only match since making the quarterfinals of Roland Garros back in early June, Karen Khachanov won his first tournament in five years in Zhuhai.

And in Chengdu, Roman Safiullin was left standing on the final day, after an excellent week (and quite a good draw, as well). He aced top seed Alexander Zverev and gave him absolutely everything he could handle.

In Astana and Beijing the qualifying begins for the next week of staggered-start events.
