MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Tour – Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023 final results

Facebook/Erste Bank Open

Nothing but good news for Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime, who beat Holger Rune in the Basel final a year ago – and beat him again Saturday in the semifinals in even more impressive fashion.

The defending of those points was a pretty big theme leading up to this last blast of the season indoors in Europe. And FAA has rounded into form just in time to defend his title.

In Vienna, the top two seeds were through to the final. And another defending champion was also involved, in No. 1 seed Daniil Medvedev. In his case, though, Sinner was the winner.

As late as it is in the season, it’s been a top-shelf week of tennis at the 500 level.

(Basel and Vienna are six hours ahead of ET).
