CANCÚN, Mexico –  They’re starting earlier in Cancún Wednesday, with the late doubles match on Tuesday having been rained out.

So Canadians Gaby Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe got an earlier start as they faced the team they defeated in the US Open final. And also the team that knocked Dabrowski’s BJK Cup teammate Leylah Fernandez out of the doubles here. And they beat them – qualifying for the semifinals

On the singles side – the only player who wasn’t a complete mope out there was Iga Swiatek.
