With his straight-set win over Alexander Zverev on Wednesday, Daniil Medvedev qualified for the ATP Finals semis.
Alexander Zverev could still qualify by winning over a rather downtrodden Andrey Rublev.
But if Carlos Alcaraz manages to beat Medvedev in the day match – and he did – that night session match is a dead rubber.
That only the last of the round-robin matches had nothing much at stake (besides ranking points and a lot money, which is actually nothing) is a decent outcome.
(Turin is six hours ahead of EST).
