With the doubling up of some matches because of Friday’s rainout, there are a few players – who got through on Thursday – who won’t have to play doubleheaders on Saturday and therefore will definitely have an edge going forward.

Hubert Hurkacz, for one, had to play two – and won two. So did Matteo Arnaldi.

Others, like Zverev, Rublev and Dimitrov, only had to play one match today and if they got through, would be in better shape than many for the quarterfinals on Sunday.

It’s not … SO bad. It’s been worse. But definitely not ideal.
