MELBOURNE, Australia – In a flash, we’re at the semifinal stage for the women, with the top two seeds getting to the final four with only a few little hiccups on No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka’s part – and almost none on Iga Swiatek’s side.

She had lost just 14 games in five matches so far. And it was going to take an excellent performance to trouble her. And Madison Keys provided that in spades.

As for the other two – No. 19 seed Keys and No. 11 Paula Badosa – they’re both great comeback stories. And they are players who have the level, if not the ranking, to deserved to be here. Badosa will be back in the top 10 on Monday.
