The two Canadians in the Indian Wells qualifying draw survived their first-rounders.

And so they played on Tuesday for a spot in the main draw.

Gabriel Diallo had a talented but inexperienced American, Ethan Quinn. Meanwhile, Alexis Galarneau – who posted a solid win Monday against Arthur Cazaux, had probably the most experienced player in the draw – former Montreal champion Pablo Carreño Busta.

Neither was able to get through.
