Singles quarterfinals in both Barcelona and Munich, with most of the top seeds getting through and the draw brackets (somewhat) respected. More in Barcelona than in Munich.
It was the Installment No. 7 of Ruud v Rune, also known as the intra-Scandinavian championships.
Neither is in resplendent form in 2025. But Ruud overwhelmingly held the lead in this one – 6-1, with the only Rune win coming in 2023 in Rome. Of the eight meetings, seven have come on clay so that lopsided head-to-head isn’t too surprising. But Rune’s poor form was better than Ruud’s poor form on the day.
(Barcelona and Munich are six hours ahead of EDT).
