It’s quarterfinal time on the singles side in Rome.
And even though it wass only Tuesday, you were going to have to work pretty hard to even FIND a women’s match at the Foro Italico. Especially with long rain delays.
There were just four – two singles quarterfinals, and two second-round women’s doubles matches.
In the end, unseeded American Peyton Stearns becomes the first American women in 45 years to reach her first three career semifinals on clay. And the first ever to win three consecutive matches in a third-set tiebreak. She’s beaten Madison Keys, Naomi Osaka and Elina Svitolina. Crazy run.
On the Canuckian side, Marina Stakusic took on the tough-on-clay Camila Osorio in the first round of the Parma 125. And beat her easily.
