Elena Rybakina and Paula Badosa, neither of whom has lit it up during this clay-court season for different season, were scheduled to take the court Tuesday in Strasbourg.
Badosa, whose back woes returned, was in the draw in Rome but in the end, pulled out late. In Strasbourg, it was opponent Marie Bouzkova who retired.
Rybakina had trouble keeping the ball in the court against a very, very good Bianca Andreescu in Rome. But she got through on Tuesday.
