ROLAND GARROS – After a boffo women’s final between the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the world in the women’s singles final Saturday, the men had a fair bit to live up to.
For No. 1 Jannik Sinner and No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz – neither of whom had lost when they reached the final of a major, something had to give.
What they were to do in this one, as they’re still so young, could well set the tone for the next decade in term of their rivalry.
And if that’s indeed the case, we’re in for a hell of a decade.
(Paris is six hours ahead of EDT).
