Gauff was shocked by Victoria Mboko on the Canadian’s run to the title in Montreal. Although she did pick up the doubles title with countrywoman McCartney Kessler (whom she joked carried them, but that was actually what happened a fair bit).
Also – Paolini v Sakkari and Krecikova v Svitolina are some pretty tough second-round matchups to check out.
