MELBOURNE, Australia – The quarterfinals are finally under way, with the final two to be determined from the top halfs on both the men’s and women’s sides.
The surprise was American teen Iva Jovic, who was up against it as she faced world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
And home hero Alex de Minaur had the crowd, and his home stadium, to try to do something against a “Big 2”. If he’s going to do it, this would be the time. But he couldn’t do it.
(Melbourne is 16 hours ahead of ET)
