MELBOURNE, Australia – Three Canadians still alive, notably Gabriela Dabrowski who is into the semifinals of the women’s doubles with old’new partner Luisa Stefani of Brazil.
Also playing is No. 14 seed in the girls event, Nadia Lagaev. She played No. 3 seed Ksenia Efremova, a Russian who is now playing for France, in the third round. Lagaev was in most of the rallies, and the match was closer than the score. But in the end, too many errors.
And Robert Shaw, the quad wheelchair player, likely will be competing in the last match of his career as he and his partner face the No. 1 seeds in the semifinals.
(Melbourne is 16 hours ahead of ET)
