You can only think this will be good for her – a big step out of the too-protective bubble she has found refuge in for so many years, with advice from an absolute legend.

Already there’s a bit of a tweak on her serve; she now says she didn’t like the modified motion she had been using. It’s not much of a thing, judging from Wednesday. The challenge is to play an actual match (against a scrappy opponent) with the old and new muscle memory fighting for prominence.

There were a few too many double faults, but solid.
