The first day of the Olympic tennis planned to throw it ALL out there.

Except the weather was less than cooperative.

No. 1 seeds Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic were under the Philippe-Chatrier roof, so no problem for them.

Alcaraz and Nadal in doubles, and Naomi Osaka v Angelique Kerber also weren’t inconvenienced in the night session.

But basically ALL the Canadians, with the exception of Milos Raonic, had to cool their heels and wait. Until they cancelled the lot of it before 6 p.m.
