Stadium 6 was the place to be for the big crew of Canadian fans on Saturday in the desert, as the tournament finally really gets going.

They started with a “Shaugur” doubleheader, with Félix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov going back to back to start the day, with Leylah Fernandez to come later.

(They should probably given them a bigger court. But court assignments are … court assignments and it’s a packed day).

In the end, Auger-Aliassime was shocked out of the tournament, while Shapovalov got through.

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic were both also in action, along with Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton – and Jack Draper v Joao Fonseca.

Djokovic, who has played little this year, is out.
