MONTREAL – We’re not sure what the final score was, except the Montréal Victoire won it on a final shot in the shootout.
And that the UBER COMPETITIVE Mirra Andreeva scored four goals in a fun ball hockey match between members of the women’s hockey team and WTA players.
(And that she deferred to her doubles partner Diana Shnaider, who played centre, for that final shootout attempt from the WTA side).
Russia – and Australia, of course – heavily represented with Daria Kasatkina, Andreeva and Shnaider, with the squad filled out by Canadian Rebecca Marino.
Andreeva was ALL “O”, NO “D” and made a absolutely mockery of any offside rule there might have been. You might call her a ball hog – affectionately, of course!
She was literally hilarious – completely PO’d when the Victoire scored. Rather PO’d when anyone but HER scored for the WTA.
Here’s what it looked like.
Here are some pics of the game.
On the VERY plus side, no one got hurt.
And it was striking how much taller the tennis players were (Marino aside, obviously) than the hockey players.
