SYDNEY, Australia – The other semifinalists have arrived, but there was still one more quarterfinal tie in this seemingly endless event.

This one was the battle of the crowd with the home Aussies and the Aussie Polish fans giving it the best atmosphere of the week.

Going in, the way Hubert Hurkacz has been playing in his first tournament in seven months, you’d give a slight edge to Poland. But Hurkacz couldn’t get it done. Still, the mixed was no contest, and they got through.
